A best moment you spend on your life

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 19 November 2013 11:21 (A review of Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away)

Really a spectacular movie, enjoyed every bit of it. After seeing action, crime, comedy, thriller, science fiction... movies this movie gave the new perspective of entertainment. It was a kinda fusion of all the world's best circus stunts, dance, light luminous with story in layers to cinematic extravaganza.

This movie had no borders for the human imaginations, for every 10 minutes something new-new remarkable visuals and breathtaking performance by the artists makes us the unforgettable moment of our life. An awesome artwork of the different category stunts teams of the movie. Totally a treat for the audience. Another highlight of the movie was the songs and background musics. It was like a lullaby, so melodious, worth to buy its OST.

This movie will take you far from our world to the dreamland while you are awake. A refreshing movie, you will miss something if you miss this movie especially as you are a movie fanatic you must not miss it. This movie was crafted by the notable New Zealand filmmaker for his work 'Shrek' and 'Narnia' series. Recommended.

The return of the promising combo

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 16 November 2013 06:58 (A review of The World's End)

One of the most expected British movie of the year. After donning in movies like 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz' the most promising actor combo given yet another astonishing performance under the same director. The other too were acted very well. The movie begins with slow especially the opening 30 minutes were like some regular comedy drama but, later, like a wild fire it catches up the speed and ends high. Most of the people will like the second half of the movie a lot.

We can call it a counterpart to multi starer Seth Rogen's maiden directional debut movie 'This is the End'. Coincidentally both movies released in the same period of time and deals with the same theme. All the above both were excellent movies which I loved a lot. Just like the characters from the 'Hangover' movies it has been about the bunch of old friends who hangouts and face the beginning of the apocalypse. I promise you won't get often fun like these two movies where all the comedians comes together to entertain us. So I recommended it to you guys.

The franchise getting better and better...

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 16 November 2013 06:57 (A review of Fast & Furious 6)

I think it's getting better and better after 'Fast Five', since the introduction of Dwayne Johnson into the franchise. After stylish 'Tokyo Drift' I loved very much this and one before it from the series. There were not many movie series that pulled the franchise from average to awesome like this one did so the credit goes to the writers and director as well as the actors.

As expected finally the action babe arrived, Gina Carano. After seeing her in 'Haywire' I thought she would be next Lara Croft. I mean the next big action lady, the one after Angelina Jolie but not as I expected role though okay. There was a death of one of a main character in the movie, I kinda doubt that because of surprise re-entry of Michelle Rodriguez into the series.

It was a well written script, engaging characters except one scene where Dwayne Johnson and another actor who make a British man go stripped. The movie missed having some nice action sequences from the Dwayne Johnson a little let down from that perspective. But the rest of the stunts were breathtaking. Who cares whether it is graphic are real I just enjoyed especially the final one with the aircraft which long lasts for over 20 minutes. I guess there won't be that long runway anywhere in the world :p. The movie will be more enjoyable by hardcore action movie fans so why don't you try if you have not seen yet.

2 guns against FBI, CIA, DEA, Navy and drug lord

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 16 November 2013 06:56 (A review of 2 Guns)

Those were the old days in a movie where laws chasing bad guys. Now its time where laws fight themselves. FBI, DEA, CIA, Navy, Military and what else. '2 Guns' tells the story of corrupted officers from different organizations. Just like the movie 'Mr and Mrs Smith', the movie centers around two characters Bobby and Stig. The criminal partners who plan to rob a bank but the intense are different. They just follow the order from their bosses. Then they realise they were used as a bait by their superiors to recover the millions that looted by them. Now the rest of the story tells do they join hands or work their separate ways to fight and put back everything in the track.

Solid performances, great stunts, quite good story, all in all a decent entertaining movie. The story explains very well regarding with the collision of different organization. One thing they made us fool that there were not only two guns in the movie, there were hundreds. If they were considered two lead characters as guns then okay, fine, that's a relief. Overall it was a popcorn movie to have on the boring weekend.

Combined pieces of comedies became 'Grown Ups 2'

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 16 November 2013 06:55 (A review of Grown Ups 2)

Like the first part it is just a fine comedy. Story? I think there was none. It is a movie where series of fun scenes attached together which becomes the 'Grown Ups 2'. Yeah like the movie 'Jackass', nothing much difference between these two except one was rated PG13 and other were R.

At least the first movie was somehow enjoyable, this movie completely failed to attract with its comedies. I think Adam Sandler's sense of humour is no longer effective like he was a decade ago. The combined star power was the key to this movie which made watchable. Hope there won't be a third. In my opinion it is a one time watchable and nothing to praise, more like a watching the 'Just for laugh: Gags' program on the television.

Interference in some1s dream chase may end in disa

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 14 November 2013 07:49 (A review of Nurse Betty)

A simple, plain, straightforward story that can surprise anybody like it did to me. Frankly to say I thought it was some pure chick comedy and yes it was but little more than that. I can say that where a fun filled 'chick movie' meets the ruthless 'hit man'. The movie was kinda similar to Alfred Hitchcock's last movie 'Family Plot'. The story centers around a Kansas waitress Betty who married to a car salesman. When Betty witness her husband's murder she suffers from a post trauma shock. She forgets everything and becomes a new of her who begins to pursue her favourite soap actor.

Impressive performance by Renee Zellweger, I totally fell for her character and tell me who can't. For that she also won the Golden globe trophy, well deserved. Morgan Freeman and Chris Rock were others two with a solid supporting roles who comes in darker shades. It was little cleverly written script than I thought, like I said it was kinda Alfred Hitchcock style theme and presentation. In a couple of scenes I came to know the secrets only when they reveal it themselves. Those were the awesome tiny-tiny twists throughout the movie. This was a pure entertainment for those who seek a movie for relaxation. One of the rare product and a tiny bit underrated movie.

Fell for a trick and stood strong in their own.

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 12 November 2013 09:00 (A review of Standing Up)

I was just stunned, totally speechless. How come this movie is not so popular is a million dollar question asked myself. This movie must reach everyone especially the family audience and the kids. A best children's movie I have seen after a long time, maybe after 'Bridge to Terabithia' and 'A Little Princess'. I mean I liked many others between these movies but this one gave me kinda rare experience to feel the depth of the problem that faced by the tween kids. Yeah the movie talks mainly about the physically weak kids who are easy targets to bully. From their perspective 'Standing Up' tells the victims self discovery.

If there is an award for children's movies in Oscar similar to animation movies and foreign movies, I would give to this one without thinking twice. This movie is not only a simple movie but a fine message deliverer like the rare movie like 'October Baby' etc. These kinda movies require more recognition, sadly fails to do as commercially. But if you get a chance to see don't miss it and recommend to others as well.

'Standing Up' was based on the young adult novel called 'Goat Island'. It centers around two characters Howie and Grace who are the victims in their summer camp prank. These two are stripped naked and left alone in an island by their mates. Instead returning back to the camp in the morning they run away in order to avoid the humiliation. During their journey to nowhere they successfully achieve that what have to be done to survive. They find the strength in their unity and also the self discovery. The journey that changed their lives forever.

Both the lead kids were supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. I felt they already gave their career best performances in their early age. Excellent direction from the director of 'Eagle Eye'. I don't know what others say but I consider it is his best movie so far from his filmography. The background score was very catchy and melodic, perfectly fitted with the presentation. The second half was emotionally appealed a lot and music was one of the reasons for that. There was a scene I liked the most in the movie where Grace phones her mother and her mother says something about Howie. On that particular scene she turns towards Howie, wow, that was the amazing one, emotionally touching. There are only a few movies in the world that makes us to have more and more and never want to end. Yeah this movie did that to me. 'Standing Up' is rare and must see movie, hope y'all won't miss after reading my review. An highly recommended by my side.

Death of a robot... birth of the superhero...

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 12 November 2013 08:55 (A review of Robo-G)

A movie about robots is not rare among Japanese movies. If you are an Anime movie fan you would have seen plenty of movies with robots. This 'Robo-G' was a brilliantly written and directed movie. There was no compromise in movie quality. Why I am saying that mean it was not the movie that highly depended on computer graphics, in fact I saw none CGI works in the movie. Most importantly it is not even a science fiction but related to that theme.

The owner of the Kimura electrical appliance is keen to participate in upcoming Robo- expo. Three of his employees are busy creating a humanoid but there is insufficient time to finish it. One week to go, they decide to put a man inside a robot costume and finish the event smoothly. Then the 70 year-old Suzuki comes across who was disappointed for his unrecognition by his friend from the recently concluded cultural program. So he decides to join them three and everything ends as planned. But the real problem arises when an enthusiastic college student shows interest to doing project on the national sensation robot called new Shiokaze.

The movie fulfilled my expectations. I found it a kinda part of a fresh idea. When I read about the movie I was not sure that it will work but after a watch I came to know that I was wrong before. Wherever it has came from, Hollywood, Bollywood, Eurowood, K- movies or J-movies, it will be a treat for movie fanatics like me. I love robot themes, I consider it is one of my most expected from sci-fi themes. This movie brought plenty of laughs in me. I felt that it was quite a lengthy movie though the pace was steady and holds the audience without much unwanted scenes. The end twist was good, it was a good solution that what I had curiosity about all the way. And an another scene in the end which leaves a sign that indicates sequel is in due. I will be happy if they make another 'Robo-G' movie.

Sometime greatest inspiration comes from what you

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 12 November 2013 08:52 (A review of Molière)

If you have already seen this movie you may come to know that it was the similar story theme to 'Shakespeare in Love'. That is not what I was going to say, this movie really did some magic spell on me because absolutely loved the movie all the way from top to bottom. The settings and the costumes, wow, very impressive, looked so natural. You know, most of the commercial flick that sets in the period like this, the filmmakers use nice and clean costumes. Cinematographically that looks awesome, but won't feel like that is true.

The movie filled with plenty of humorous scenes. The story sets in the mid 17th century France, where a popular countryside writer and actor, Molière, goes to Paris to conduct one of his plays. There he comes across with some person he knew before, which takes us to the 13 years earlier flashback story. Then he was a young, talented comedian who was looking for a first breakthrough in his career. Due to interference in the royal affair, he was jailed, but a wealthy man named Jourdain saves him. Now he owes him so he helps untalented Jourdain to seduce a widow woman. Initially he tries to escape from there, but something changes in him and give reason to stay. While seducing another woman, Jourdain brings a great mess into the family without his knowledge. As the adults how they gonna solve the problem is the movie's twist and turn.

I can say the flawless, perfect performance by Fabrice Luchini was the movie's highlight. I have seen some movies of Romain Duris, it was his one of the best performances in those I have seen. Both Fabrice Luchini and Romain Duris from the driver's seat drove the movie to the success. You will enjoy it as a fine period comedy. The first three quarters were decent fun and the last quarter of the movie is what turns into a serious and emotional side of the tale. And that is where most of the audience will fall for it.

The life will ask what you did in your life

Posted : 11 years, 1 month ago on 12 November 2013 08:51 (A review of Night Train to Lisbon)

I am glad that I saw this movie. It was based on the novel, which tells about a Swiss professor called Raimund who saves a young woman from jumping off the bridge. Then the girl disappears, so the Raimund got her red coat and a book. He starts to read it to find why she was trying to kill herself. That he finds something deep inside which is more than he had in his life. So he abandons his class in half way and pursue the thrilling adventurous quest to find more about the person he read in the book. Everything he was curious about is only growing bigger than he imagined. He meets many people regarding that book and they tell the same stories from each of their own perspectives which happened in back 70s. Now, Rainmund asks one question himself after knowing everything and it might be yours too if you saw the movie.

The movie looked exact copy of a novel, like I read some novel. The story telling which transforms the screen constantly between now and 70s were clearly maintained with its destination until the last 10-20 minutes. Once you know the final conclusion, you may say is that it's because some of you might expect something bigger. But the middle aged or older guys who had experienced life very well will know the meaning of it. Yeah, I believe the movie might more suitable for those kinda audience than youngsters.

It was a nice performance by such a great British actor Jeremy Irons. Like I said the story had two diversions, one which set in present time and another in 70s. The present time tale was totally ruled by Jeremy Irons, I liked it more than the 70s tale. The problem with flashback story was its ending, it was very simple, especially I expected bit detailed explanation behind character Amadeu's death. And also his failed relationship with Estafania could have been more reasonable. However, I am not disappointed with the movie, it was a quite nice drama, in fact awesome. I am not a book fanatic but I love movies based on the novels, especially movie like 'Night Train to Lisbon' I won't miss. I say you must go for it if you like the movies which gives more priority to innovative characters than usual theme.
